Turn your Wii into a media hub

We love our Wii more than is humanly acceptable. But while our hungry thumbs are sated by bouts of boxing and endless hours of Zelda, we wouldn't mind a spot of media hub action to stop our PS3 cravings.

Step forward then X-OOM's media centre for Wii. It promises to turn your ice-white Ninty box into a place for snaps, music and video.

Install the software and you'll be able to use the Wii's WiFi powers to stream everything on your PC downstairs and onto your gogglebox.

It'll support MP3s, WMAs, MPEG4s, DivX and XviD. Not half bad we reckon. It's out in six weeks, for a mere Ł29.99

Ideal if you don't fancy the Big M or Sony's gaming come media monsters..

If you want to download Wii games, check out WiiMediaDownloads. WiiMediaDownloads is a Nintendo Wii download site that allows you to download free Wii games.

With WiiMediaDownloads, you can download Nintendo Wii games from the internet and then play them on your console. Not only do they offer free Wii Game downloads, you can also download other media such as music, movies, TV shows and much more.

WiiMediaDownloads is probably the first site dedicated to Wii games download since there are plenty of websites that offers free psp, xbox 360 downloads. However, so far, they are the only website I found to offer Wii media.

To download wii games from WiiMediaDownloads is pretty straightforward. After signing up where there is a one time charge of $44.95, you are given access to their database where the latest Wii media can be downloaded to your computer and later transferred to your console.

The download speeds are fast and everything is nicely categorized into the type of downloads such as games, music, videos etc. Since Wii games are pretty big, it can take some time for it to download the games.

They also provide technical assistance should you have problems downloading and transferring the files to your console. WiiMediaDownloads offers a money back guarantee so there is no risk on your part.

So if you want to download Wii games, music, movies, tv shows and much more for a small fee without going to your local video game shop even again, give WiiMediaDownloads a try today.

Wii Adds USB Keyboard Support In Update

Nintendo has updated the Nintendo Wii console to now support USB keyboard as they further expand their online plans and improve internet surfing on the Wii.

The latest Nintendo Wii firmware update is version 3.1 and adds a new key feature to the Nintendo Wii which it was surely lacking in the past, the ability to use a USB keyboard on the console.

This free update is a huge one as the Opera browser used to search the internet on the Nintendo Wii can now be used along with a USB keyboard. The Nintendo Wii already has a built in wireless networking capability meaning that right out of the box it is set to connect to any wireless network. From here you will be able to download the firmware update.

The Opera Software has also been updated with a few key changes to how you navigate the internet as well. You are allows to send favorite web sites to friends, save extra favorites locations, etc. This is all part of the plan by Nintendo to expand its online grasp as they also announced the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii will support online play, as will the upcoming Mario Kart on the Wii.
