Super Mario Stadium Baseball announced for Wii

The only other new Wii software announcement other than Monster Hunter 3 at Nintendo’s Autumn 2007 press conference was conformation of its own Super Mario Stadium Baseball, a new sports title for the little white, whirring box.

The sports ’sim’ is the sequel to the Nintendo GameCube’s Mario Superstar Baseball, which was released for the Wii’s predecessor in 2005. The title, which featured a variety of characters from the Nintendo family; various game modes including Challenge and mini-game modes and numerous difficulty settings, was received pretty well by the critics, so hopefully this new offering will deliver more of the same.

No concrete details were release, but you can bet your life on the fact that it’ll make full use of the Wii Remote’s motion sensing functionality.
