THQ secures rights to develop new Wii games

THQ has struck a deal with Nintendo allowing them to make games featuring Nintendo's intellectual property.

According to new SEC filings, the deal will run until Oct. 13, 2009, and will give THQ the right to develop and market games for the Wii within the Western Hemisphere.

Of course, Nintendo has the industry-standard first refusal on any titles THQ develops and can veto a number of materials including the game’s packaging, all printed materials distributed with the game and all marketing materials.
