12 Players Online For Mario Kart Wii

According to reports from 1up, Nintendo revealed at their annual Fall Conference in Japan this week that Mario Kart on the Wii is going to support up to 12 player games online. So far, no other Wii game has boasted 12 players online in a single match-up, and hints at a streamlined matchmaking system only raise the anticipation levels for the online game.

A trailer shown at the conference also showed footage of motor bikes for the first time, as well as some of the cool tricks that you can pull off in your karts/bikes/vintage looking racing cars. There was also a circuit that has a snowboard styled halfpipe that Mario was performing Rodeos off of - nice.

Brawl: Sonic Special Moves

Smash Bros. Dojo!! revealed the special moves for Brawl newcomer Sonic the Hedgehog for today's update.

Sonic's side special move is the Spin Dash. Players can charge the move for a bit to increase speed and rise up a little while spinning. The Spin Dash can be followed by a jump, a mid-air attack and another Spin Dash for a powerful combo move.

Spin Charge is the name of Sonic's down special move. By holding the control stick and pressing the special attack button, players can charge up their spin.

The up special move, the Spring Jump, allows Sonic to launch high into the air using a spring native to his series. Director Masahiro Sakurai added, "You might not use it on the ground much, but rumor has it that if you do, the spring that remains can be used by other characters."

Super Smash Bros. Brawl now carries a date of "To Be Determined" in the Americas. The game is expected to be released in Japan on January 24, 2008, but it is unknown whether or not a delay will occur with the American edition. No release date has been given for PAL territories.
